We’ve Started A Conversation

We’ve started a conversation that I never want to end
It’s all about life and hope and what it means to be a friend
We learn to hear; we choose to trust
It’s a challenge for all of us (how about “each one” so that the number of syllables match)
But when we part, my eager heart
Says a prayer that I’ll see you again
‘Cause we’ve started a conversation that I never want to end

We talk about things that trouble us
We talk about our dreams
With more points of view life never looks as uphill as it seems
And when we argue, though it’s rare,
We find the common ground somewhere
And when we part, my supportive/supported heart (supported sounds a little technical. How about grateful heart? That evokes more feeling.)
Says a prayer that I’ll see you again
‘Cause we’ve started a conversation that I never want to end

Time is always passing; people always change
If we give each other room to grow, our respect will do the same how about ‘our trust’ will do the same? It’s not perfect, but can you think of any other things that are touchy-feely words? I’m always seeking the words with the most emotional pull. Hey, I just thought of this: What about “our bond”?

Through all of the miles and fears and smiles we share along the way
Let’s treasure each day we have before it’s time for us to say
Goodbye, my friend; goodbye, my friend
Let’s both agree it’s not the end should this say ‘let’s all’?
Cuz when we part, my loyal/eager heart I like loyal the best, here, or you could go back to grateful.
